It’s that time again! The holiday season is upon us and only a week from now, you’ll be celebrating with family and friends. But have you thought about how you’re going to say a big holiday thank you to your staff? Do you have anything special planned for them? If you don’t and you’re struggling for ideas for gifts that are more memorable than a random gift card? In this blog post, I will provide suggestions that are traditional and not so traditional gift ideas. It is important to note that the only way to truly make your staff’s faces smile with glee upon sight of your gift is to know and understand who they are on a personal level. If you want the gift to be memorable, make it personal.

Traditional Gift Ideas

Gift cards

As this gift idea is not exactly old traditional, it is traditional for the era. However, you want to stay away from the generic gift cards and choose ones that will show the people on your staff that you truly do understand and listen to them. There are movie gift cards to send that stressed out staff member who desperately needs a night out, or a restaurant gift card for that staff member to have a good time with their family while also enjoying good food. The choices for gift cards are endless and can satisfy each staff member in your office.

Flowers (edible arrangements)

No one can turn down a beautiful poinsettia (holiday flower which grows every year at the same time) or even an edible arrangement of fruits, chocolates, meats or cheeses. Keep in mind who the members of your team are and tailor the type of arrangement to each person.

Bonuses

If you think members on your staff are going to turn down a bonus, you are very much mistaken, especially at Christmas time. It is one of the most stressful times of the year and providing even just a little relief will make the people who work for you very happy.

Time off

Again, this is a no-brainer; however, this is only the perfect gift when the time off is paid. The holidays are a time for family and friends, so the more time off your team members are given to spend with the people they love (without worrying about losing money), the happier they will be.

Out of Left Field Gift Ideas

Breakfast tote

Who doesn’t love a good breakfast? This breakfast tote comes complete with pancake mix, syrup, and apple spread. However, if someone in your office doesn’t like or is allergic to apples, you can create your own breakfast gift bag with strawberries, cherries, or maple.

Word stone nests

Have someone in your office who loves to decorate their desk and is always buying decor items? Then surprise them with these inspirational “word stone” nests. You can change the words, personalize the stones to better fit that member of your staff or even nix the nests altogether.

Gift boxes

These sound fairly traditional and almost boring, but never fear, the strangest gift boxes you have ever seen are here; your staff members will never see these coming.

First strange gift box to look at is the bacon and chocolate gift box. Perfect for those in your office who love bacon and chocolate and might want to try both in one bite for a salty sweet taste. Now, no one will be able to claim that your gifts are boring.

Spice it up even more with the Chilli Lovers Gift Box! With a cookbook, chilli sauce, and even Chilli Fudge – a bag of delicious fudge with a chilli kick.

These are just a couple examples of some completely extraordinary gift ideas. Remember that you can create your own gift box and personalize it for each extraordinary person on your team. The one thing to remember when attempting to pick the right gift, be it traditional or just downright strange, is to really know the members of your team. If you want those gifts to be memorable, take the time to get to know your team on a personal level.
